From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot departed shelton airport, shelton, Washington and was cleared to land from north vashon island. While entering a right downwind for runway 13R, the tower asked him to make a right base for runway 13R. The pilot stated that he was distracted and that he normally places the gear down when he enters the downwind. He stated that he had carried more than 14" of power, therefore the gear warning system would not work when carrying that much power. The pilot was very surprised when he found he had landed with the gear in the up position. The aircraft was examined by FAA airworthiness inspectors on 01-03-2005. No abnormalities of the gear system were found. Pilot was counseled on checklist usage and prelanding checks on short final.
