From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On March 25, 2005, about 0545 eastern standard time, a Piper PA-23-160, N2226P, registered to lets go air inc., as a title 14 CFR part 91 flight, had the nose gear collapse on landing at the Hollywood fort Lauderdale international airport (fll), fort Lauderdale, Florida. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan was filed. The commercial-rated pilot and passenger received no injuries, and the airplane incurred minor damage. The flight originated from opa locka (opf) airport, opa locka, FL., earlier that day. The pilot stated he lowered the landing gear and had left and right main gear down and lock lights on but did not have the nose light on, he recycled the gear with the same results then used the emergency hydraulic hand pump with the gear handle in the down position and pumped until the gear handle returned to the center position. The nose gear down and lock light never came on, then looked in the mirror on the engine nacelle and it appeared that the nose gear was down and locked the pilot then replaced the light bulb and the nose down and lock light never came on. Then proceeded to fort Lauderdale international airport to land and on roll out the nosegear collapsed.
