From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 04/02/05, at approximately 1430 MST, N866T, an experimental amateur built aircraft, on takeoff roll, departed the left side of runway 20 at the Las Vegas Municipal Airport, Las Vegas, new Mexico. The pilot-in-command and his one passenger received no injuries. The aircraft sustained minor damage to the landing gear and propeller. VMC conditions prevailed. The PIC believes that he encountered a dust devil which resulted in a loss of lift for the aircraft. The PIC could not recover from the abrupt descent.
