From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The instructor pilot stated: at the beginning of the takeoff roll, then he simulated a left engine failure with the mixture control. The aircraft veered to the left, at that time the student reduced the throttles to idle and applied the brakes. The flight instructor restored the mixture to full rich. The student applied right rudder to put the aircraft on the centerline of the runway. The aircraft yawed hard to the right then the left landing gear collapsed. Damage was confined to the left propeller tips, left landing gear, landing gear doors and left wing tip. There were no injuries.
