What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) During landing on the downwind leg the pilot noticed that the gear did not seem to be completely down. He asked the FBO to look as he flew to verify the gear position. He circled the airfield or an hour trying to get the gear down and locked and to burn off fuel. He landed between runway 22 and the taxiway. The damage was substantial due to the firewall damage, fuselage bulkhead damage and the right flap damage. Apparently the landing light had turned on the left gear which prevented the left gear from extending.
