From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On June 30, 2005 at approximately 1930 local time Cessna 421C, N421LH with the pilot and one passenger aboard was enroute from el paso, TX to milwaukee WI. Near Woodward, OK at an altitude of 15000 ft., the right engine suddenly stopped running. The pilot declared an emergency and was able to make an emergency landing at Woodward municipal airport (wwr). The pilot said that after landing he tried to turn the right engine crankshaft by pulling on the propeller but he could not turn the crankshaft. When they removed the oil filter they found metal particles. The pilot said that there was no visible oil leakage and the engine had oil in the crank case. The pilot said the engine will be replaced on July 18, 2005. The engine will be removed from the aircraft and returned to ram aviation to be disassembled to determine the cause of engine failure.
