From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On July 3, 2005 at 1615 pacific daylight time the pilot privacy data omitted was departing runway 32 at the Kamiah, Idaho municipal airport. During taxi he noted he had about 10 gallons of fuel. During taxi and runup he had selected the right fuel tank. The manual requires that takeoff and landings be done on the left fuel tank to prevent fuel starvation. The pilot privacy data omitted stated that he forgot to change the fuel selector to the left tank prior to departure. During departure he performed a maximum performance climb that resulted in an engine failure due to fuel starvation. During the subsequent landing the aircraft bounced and came to rest up on the aircraft's nose and left wing.
