What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Ag pilot was spraying on a north-south run and commencing a hart turn to reverse course. Halfway through the turn, at an IAS of 100-110, the engine flamed out. In the process of locating a suitable site to land, the pilot was confronted with a double pole power line, a deep drainage ditch and an irrigation channel. PIC missed all of the obstacles and aircraft stalled about 6-10 feet above the ground where it eventually came to rest. Damage was substantial as the airplane's right wingtip struck first and then the right landing gear, which collapsed on impact. Airplane was removed to a hangar in Lyford and is awaiting an engine teardown. There were no injuries.
