From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On August 09, 2005 at approximately 1300 hours, Cessna 402C, registration number N524FA veered off the runway after landing at fort Lauderdale international airport. Investigation showed that the r/h main landing gear torque link center bolt pulled through due to a sheared washer allowing the wheel to turn causing loss of steering control. The aircraft was jacked and serviceable hardware installed and the aircraft returned to the ramp. The operator performed landing gear inspections on the remaining Cessna 402 fleet.
