From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated he was making an approach to a gravel bar along a River, and made a slight right turn to get lined up with the intended landing area. He said he noted his altitude was getting a little low and added some power, but his sink rate was still increasing. He then added full power and seemed to arrest the sink rate when the aircraft touched down and the right landing gear collapsed, about 200 feet short of the intended landing area. The aircraft skidded around 180 deg. And received substantial damage.
