From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft departed mri around 1400 to do take offs and landings at goose bay. After flying around for 1 1/2 hours they returned and were coming into land at mri. Pilot stated he was downwind for runway 25, in close, "over the costco building at 500 feet with full flaps." He had turned base and was descending to land when the aircraft began to pitch down really hard. He added power and the pitch down got worse. The pitch down got less with lower power applied. The aircraft came down about 1/2 mile short of runway 25 mri on the eastern edge of the northay mall parking lot.
