What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) PIC attempted a soft field takeoff on a hard surfaced farm road in winds of 10 knots gusting to fifteen knots. There were mesquite trees and scrub brush on both sides of the road. Almost immediately after liftoff at approximately 50 knots, the right wing tip became entangled with a mesquite tree. The resulting force yawed the airplane to the right. The PIC was unable to overcome the upset force and subsequently lost control of the aircraft. The aircraft impacted the ground at an angle relative to the farm road and in a sideways slide. There were no injuries or fire. The aircraft sustained substantial damage.
