From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On September 30, 2005, at 1841 MDT, a Gulfstream g-v, N506QS, registered to nji sales inc, landed at Great Falls International Airport in Great Falls, Montana. A post flight inspection performed by the flight crew revealed that the right hand horizontal stabilizer tip had been damaged. The flight was a part 91 repositioning flight and had no passengers on board. While the aircraft was parked at lga earlier on 9/30/05, another Gulfstream taxied behind it. The flight crew felt a bump but thought it was the jet blast from the other aircraft. The crew then got out and looked at the aircraft and spotted no damage so they departed to cmh on a 91K flight. The aircraft then continued on for a repositioning flight to gtf.
