From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 10/17/2005 the pilot privacy data omitted was flying from hillsboro, Oregon (hio) to Friday harbor, WA (W33) at 1400' AGL when he experienced a smooth steady total power loss. Attempts to restart the engine failed. The pilot selected a gravel road and adjacent field for landing. A landing was accomplished with no damage to the aircraft. Subsequent investigation appears to have identified a loose fuel pump supply hose as the source of fuel loss. The engine fuel pump and associated hoses were replaced. The aircraft was flown out with no further incident on 10/20/2005.
