From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The flight departed kmhr enroute to kmcc. The crew entered the traffic pattern to runway 16 and initiated the before landing checklist. The crew became distracted by a helicopter reporting position over the runway. The checklist flow was interrupted by both pilots looking outside for the other aircraft. When the helicopter reported clear of the runway, the crew resumed the checklist and configured the aircraft for landing. During the flare, the PIC noticed that the landing gear was not down and immediately lowered the gear handle to the down position. At that same time, the aircraft settled on the runway and skidded to a stop. The aircraft received substantial damage and both crews were not injured.
