From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The PIC stated, I made a normal approach and landed at Pittsfield airport (psf) at approximately 6:15 pm 10/28/2005. The landing was normal and routine in all respects. There was a down indicator light for the main gear and a full down arrow for the nose gear. The indicators were checked again over the numbers. The landing was soft and normal. On roll out the nose dropped and the prop began striking the runway. The aircraft skidded to a stop straight ahead. Upon inspection of the aircraft, the landing gear had collapsed. The PIC made a second statement on 10/31/2005, "after moving the aircraft to the ramp, a subsequent observation of the flap and landing gear switches, showed that I inadvertently actuated the landing gear switch and not the flap switch." This resulted in the retraction of the landing gear and caused the landing gear to collapse on the runway.

As the FAA filed it
