From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

(-23) Aircraft landed short of field due to engine cut out. No injuries. No damage. Aircraft towed to ronson aviation, a certified repair station. Aircraft was returned to service with no defects noted. Pilot stated he switched tanks when he turned final, and at that time engine started to cut out and he tried to pump the wobble pump, acft engine cut out and acft landed in field just short of airport. Suspect wobble pump/fuel tank selector was not in detent causing fuel starvation.
