From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 11/05/2005, at 10:26 local time, while attempting to land on runway 13 at the Greater Peoria regional airport, the pilot of N1992M, a Mooney M20M, noticed the nose settling and a ticking noise thought to be the propeller striking the pavement. He initiated a go around and flew by the tower. This confirmed that the nose gear was not extended. The pilot attempted an unsuccessful emergency gear extension. The pilot then landed on runway 13 allowing the nose to settle causing damage to the propeller, engine, and nose gear doors.
