From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft was certified in the experimental exhibition category on 09/22/2005. Aircraft had just completed initial flight test phase 1 requiring 5 hours of flight test without any malfunctions of the gear. Attempts to lower the gear by placing the gear selector handle in the full down position failed to override the system as designed. On this flight the landing gear selector valve seemed to be out of adjustment not allowing the free flow of hydraulic fluid preventing the landing gear from free falling.
