From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 12/23/05, the pilot privacy data omitted piloted N9550X a Cessna 210FROM glenwood springs (gws) to denver, CO (dia) and then to aspen, CO (ase) with his son who he picked up at dia. The pilot privacy data omitted arrived at ase after the ase landing curfew became effective and elected to fly to eagle, CO (ege). Upon landing at ege he was unable to refuel or rent a car so they elected to fly to Rifle, CO (ril) where they landed at approximately 00:30 MST on 12/24/05. Upon landing and rollout approximately 1000 feet beyond the touchdown point the pilot privacy data omitted stated that the aircraft nose started to violently shake and dropped along with the prop striking the pavement. Neither the pilot privacy data omitted or his son were injured. Initial investigation revealed that the nose gear fork failed where it connects to the nose gear strut. At approximately 10:00 am MST on 12/24/05, inspector privacy data omitted interviewed the pilot privacy data omitted over the telephone concerning the incident and during that interview the pilot privacy data omitted stated that he did not have a valid medical certificate or a valid flight review. I instructed him to send his pilot logbook to this office via certified mail forinspection.
