From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) N80EL, a Lear 25-B, ran off the end of runway 21 at the Eagle Creek airport (eye) located in Indianapolis Indiana. Pilot reported that he canceled his IFR clearance while airborne near the outer marker but continued to fly the LOC approach using the PAPI lights for vertical guidance. Approach and touchdown were normal as was the activation of the thrust reversers. The anti-skid of the brake system was also working properly according to the pilot. Runway length of 4200 feet, coupled with a wet runway and a direct crosswind of approximately 13 knots contributed to the pilot being unable to stop the aircraft within the confines of the runway. The aircraft came to rest with the main gear resting on the edge of the runway and the nose gear off the hard surface. There were no injuries or damage to the occupants or the aircraft. Weather was reported by ASOS at 07:53 (UTC) OVC006, 4SM, wind 300 degrees @13KTS, temperature 02 dew point 0, altimeter 29.54.
