From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot stated that he was sinking fast while landing at 1K2. He stated that he tried to recover, but experienced a hard landing, however, the landing did not seem too hard. The top half of the firewall pulled forward and down and the right side of the firewall had a tear in it about eight inches long, about half way down from the top of the firewall. Controls, hoses and wires caused the center of the instrument panel to pull forward about six inches, pulling two instruments loose from the instrument panel.
