From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) A student flying his own airplane ran off the runway to the left while attempting a takeoff at Jean, NV, runway 20R. He had a left quartering tailwind of approximately 15 knots and had full flaps deployed. As he attempted to brake, he ran off the runway at full power and struck the right wingtip. Then the nose gear collapsed and the aircraft skidded to a stop. The student pilot was flying an unauthorized night cross country flight with a passenger. He was in violation of at least three regulations.
