From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) A flight instructor, while demonstrating takeoffs and landings to a student pilot, had just conducted a takeoff maneuver when the elevator control jammed. The flight instructor re-entered the traffic pattern and conducted a full stop landing utilizing the elevator trim tab as the primary pitch control. No injuries were sustained by the occupants and no damage to the aircraft resulted as a result of this incident. Subsequent investigation revealed that the rear elevator cable clevis attach bolt had been tightened improperly resulting in the clevis jamming against the rear bulkhead. This incident is closed with this report.
