What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) The pilot departed elton hensley memorial airport, Fulton, Missouri, (ftt) enroute to sky-gofarms airport (73MU) located approximately 4 miles north of ftt. The purpose of the flight was to practice takeoffs and landings at the sky-go airport. As the pilot was attempting to make the first landing on sod runway 27, he allowed the airplane to descend too low during the approach. The area along the approach path just ahead of the threshold is slightly lower than the touchdown zone. The pilot reported that he was looking out to the left side of the airplane since he could not see over the nose. He misjudged his position along the approach path and allowed the landing gear to strike the area below and short of the runway. The pilot lost directional control, causing the airplane to flip over nose first and come to rest upside down.
