From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) privacy data omitted pilot statement: I was preparing to taxi down the taxiway at Circle Hot Springs strip, while warming up the engine, the ski's froze down, one broke loose before the other, causing the plane to veer to the left 180 degrees. The taxiway and also the runway was extremely icy with a skiff of snow. Being on skis, I had no control of the direction of the planes momentum. I was unable to get it turned; the right ski stuck, and bent the gear.
