From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On March 12, 2006, the pilot privacy data omitted PIC of N4462A, a PA-22-150, departed shannon airport, VA (ezf) for a pleasure flight to Hummel field, VA (W75). The recommended runway at W75 was 19 as the winds were approximately 230 at 11 knots gusting to 18 knots. After the aircraft touched down in a full stall three point landing, a gust of wind lifted the wing. The PIC applied corrective action however, a second gust of wind caused the aircraft to exit the runway into a shallow ditch resulting in a ground loop. The pilot privacy data omitted was not injured however, the right landing gear was sheared off, the right wing tip, right elevator and propeller were damaged.
