From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 1320 CDT, a fuel stop was made at the Kerrville, Texas airport. At approximately 1410 CDT, the flight departed Kerrville for houston. The pilot stated after leveling off at 5,500 feet he proceeded to lean for best economy, a short time later the engine lost power. The pilot attempted to restart the engine and was unsuccessful. He prepared to use the caps system but found an open field located 40 miles east of Kerrville. During landing, the airplane rolled through a wire fence. The fence line was perpendicular to the forward movement of the airplane; the wing and fuselage came in contact with four steel fence posts. The pilot reported no injury. Both magnetos failed bench tests at navajo crs.
