From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Student and instructor were practicing a soft field take off. The nose of the aircraft came up rapidly and the aircraft veered to the left. The instructor thought the left wingtip was going to hit the ground and correction was made to prevent that from occurring. The student then reported the right wingtip went down and the aircraft became airborne. At the end of the flight, the student and instructor noticed the damage to the right wingtip. The right aileron sustained scraped bottom skin approximately 2" x 2". Not initially reported to FSDO. Discovered while investigating another incident.
