From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot departed Centennial Airport on a local flight in night VFR conditions on runway 10. After about 30 minutes he returned to the airport, and called tower reporting that he was west of the airport. After he turned on his transponder, he was identified east of the field, and was cleared to land on runway 17L. After several corrections from the tower, he still landed on runway 35R. He was observed taxiing in a very erratic manner, including doing "donuts" on the taxiway. The airport security was notified, and they found a dumpster that was along the edge of the taxiway out of place. There was paint from the dumpster on his aircraft, and paint from his aircraft on the dumpster. The aircraft and pilot were located in the hangar, and the aircraft had damage to the leading edge of the wing, the fabric, the left wing struts, and the left main wing spar appeared to be broken. The pilot had alcohol on his breath and had been bleeding severely from his left wrist. EMS was called and he was transported to a nearby hospital.
