From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While flying to lax, the number 2 engine stalled multiple times at airspeed 270 @ 20,000 ft. the crew declared an emergency, retarded the #2 engine to idle, and diverted to ont. During descent, the engine experienced another stall. The crew kept the engine in idle and landed safely. Jetblue maintenance dispatched from long beach airport. They borescoped the #2 engine and found the high pressure compressor blades, stages 8 through 12, worn beyond limits. The engine was removed and replaced. Engine ops check ok.
