From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) At approximately 2130 pilot and three passengers boarded aircraft and taxied to north end of runway and turned around. After performing runup checks brakes were released and aircraft began takeoff roll. Pilot was distracted by intermittent landing light. Pilot rotated at approximately 60 mph as landing light quit. Pilot pulled back on yoke hard to try and clear trees at end of runway. Aircraft stalled and right wing struck the trees. Right wing was ripped from aircraft and aircraft descended through trees. Left wing and horizontal stabilizer were ripped from aircraft. Fuselage came to a stop against some trees and a boulder at the bottom of a very steep tree covered embankment. All four occupants exited aircraft and climbed back up embankment to parking lot of Restaurant.
