From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) This was an instructional night training flight. The aircraft was making a low shallow approach to runway 35 at Decatur Municipal Airport (klud) when it struck and severed 2 electrical power lines near the south boundary of the airport. The resulting drag of the power lines settled the aircraft just short of the barbed wire fence of the airport property. The aircraft destroyed the barbed wire fence as it went through on its way to the taxiway for runway 35 where the aircraft stopped. This report is closed.
