From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While attempting a landing from 600 ft MSL pilot reduced power to 12 inches of manifold pressure, increased propeller RPM to full and lowered flaps to 40 degrees, confirmed carb heat was on and tank selector to both..when pilot pushed in throttle no increase in power. Manifold pressure was 12-13 inches. Pilot performed engine out procedure by cycling throttle, checking fuel selector, cycling carb heat and magnetos. In order to land in area with little obstructions pilot reduced throttle to idle. Pilot began flare and slowed aircraft to stall speed. Just as mains touched down pilot increased throttle and engine went to full power and RPM. Aircraft flipped when nose touched ground.

As the FAA filed it
