From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft touched down on the grass runway hard and bounced back into the air before touching down again on the nose gear assembly. The force of the initial touch down resulted in a loss of control and the aircraft skidded into the adjacent corn field. The aircraft sustained substantial damage as a result of the hard landing and slid into the corn field. The nose gear was broken off the aircraft and structural damage was sustained to the fuselage and right wing. The pilot received minor injuries as a result of this accident.
