From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Per the pilot's written statement: landed on rwy 28L, Monterey, CA airport after a practice GPS approach under VFR conditions. All was normal up to and after the actual landing. On roll out and as the plane slowed to about 30-35 mph, the nose of the aircraft softly gave way and dropped. Realizing there was a prop strike, the pilot guided the plane off the runway so as not to impede other traffic. Pilot reported the strike to the tower then killed the power and exited the aircraft. Pilot was met by firetrucks and police and gave them, as well as the tower and FAA (by phone) the explanation of this event.
