From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During takeoff on runway 28 at Cyril e. King airport in saint thomas, usvi, PIC reported a loss of power on left engine confirmed by a drop on RPM from 2700 to 1000 (RPM) and yaw movement of the aircraft to the left. All the events occurred after 100 knots of airspeed and 100 ft. above the runway. Application of full power to right engine was verified and feather action was initiated on left engine. As per report received, aircraft was not able to maintain speed and altitude on the engine resulting on a ditch in the water (atlantic ocean) in mile west of the airport. Two crew members and two passengers (aircraft loaders) were retrieved from the water. Note: no corrective action will be initiated at this time. Aircraft submerged at 109 ft. all information gathered at this time indicates engine failures.
