From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The aircraft made a forced landing in a vacant field approximately 2 miles south of the Marine City Airport (76G). Immediately after takeoff, on runway 22, the aircraft lost partial power. In order to avoid hitting the high power tension lines which are approximately 100 ft high, 2800 ft from the end of runway 22, the aircraft flew under the power lines. The aircraft was able to climb enough to clear the area's trees and telephone wires. Shortly after clearing the trees and poles the aircraft was set down in the field at the south west corner of markel and starville roads. The aircraft received substantial damage. The pilot and passenger received minor injuries which were treated at the scene by EMS.
