From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The Private pilot departed birchwood airport (bpcw) at 0820 LCL for a Private airstrip approximately 6 miles east of the Willow airport (paou). While attempting to land south on the 800 foot wet grass runway, on the final approach, the right main landing gear clipped the top of a 20 foot tall tree approximately 160 feet from the end of the runway. The pilot added power and attempted to recover but the aircraft mushed forward descending and impacting more brush. The aircraft slowed further and came to rest in the brush approximately 25 feet short of the runway. There were no injuries.
