From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On July 28, 2006 at 10:30 CDT, the pilot of N7779T, a Piper PA32RT-300T aircraft, serial number 32R-7887196, reported an unsafe landing gear indication to the control tower at Eppley Airfield. The pilot was instructed to fly by the tower to confirm the landing gear position. The tower reported that the nose landing gear was partially retracted. After several attempts to extend the landing gear, the aircraft landed on runway 14L. All three landing gear collapsed on landing. The aircraft was evacuated. The pilot reported no injuries. Subsequent inspection of the aircraft disclosed the landing gear could not be extended normally due to a lack of hydraulic fluid. The left main landing gear actuator leak depleted the system of fluid. Maintenance personnel at landmark aviation will submit a m or d report for the actuator.

As the FAA filed it
