From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot PIC ^priva^ rented an aircraft to do instrument proficiency and brought along privacy data omitted to serve as safety pilot. Both airmen are qualified in this light twin. After completion of instrument training the pilot ^priva^ allowed privacy data omitted who sat in left pilot's seat, to make an approach and landing. privacy data omitted Failed to lower landing gear and landed gear up. Aircraft damage confined to typical ground damage for a gear up landing: bent propeller blades, bent fairings, and skin damage. The pilot ^priva^ was serving as PIC and was responsible for the aircraft. He signed the rental agreement for this flight. However, privacy data omitted was actually at the controls and made the approach and landing gear up.
