From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Mishap pilot stated that he approached runway 17 at aln at 90 KIAS, touching down at 75-80 KIAS. Upon touchdown, he heard noise and visually observed through inspection window that nose wheel assembly had separated from strut. The control tower observed a bounced landing followed by the broken strut. It appears from evidence on scene that the pilot landed left of runway centerline midway to the edge, 2500 feet down the runway (indicated by tire skid marks). After 200 feet of locked brakes, the nose tire began skidding and broke off after 18 feet. The airplane stopped on the left edge of the runway, 3400 feet from beginning of runway.
