From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot privacy data omitted landed at kcic with an unsafe landing gear indication. Nose gear collapsed on rollout. There were no injuries to either the pilot privacy data omitted or his passenger. Inspection of aircraft was accomplished at north state aviation, Chico, California. Findings were that the engine mount had broken at the loop where the steering bellcrank (see attached diagrams). This caused the steering bellcrank to sag, causing the nose gear to fail to complete the extension cycle to the down and locked position. A review of the maintenance records was accomplished with no significant findings. This report will be amended as needed.

A REVIEW OF THE MAINTENANCE RECORDS WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITH NO SIGNIFICANT FINDINGS. THIS REPORT WILL BE AMENDED AS NEEDED.
