From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot attempted engine start on left hand engine (#1). Reported that N1 and N2 rotor speeds appeared normal. As engine continued to accelerate, pilot observed abnormal reading of engine exhaust temperature as it rose to 900 degrees. Pilot aborted start sequence by disengaging the start switch which produced no noticeable results. Proceeded to move power lever to idle cutoff, shutting off the fuel at the engine. Pilot completed with complete shutdown of aircraft fuel boost pumps and all electrical systems. Passengers and crew evacuated aircraft.
