From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The right main gear collapsed on landing. The scissor links became separated causing the tire and wheel to face 90 degrees to the direction of travel. The rearward load placed on the strut caused the forward pivot pin at the top of the strut to break. As the strut was forced aft, the draglink broke off at its attachment point to the strut. The pilot initiated a go around momentarily, but decided not to continue the go around. The aircraft left the runway and passed through a depression used for water control and the remaining landing gear collapsed. The aircraft came to rest right side up, no fire, and the pilot was not injured. Incident privacy data omitted is closed.

As the FAA filed it

INCIDENT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ IS CLOSED.
