From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated he was landing in a meadow on red mountain when his left main dropped into a hole causing the accident. The left main gear was bent back; there was damage to the left wing and fuselage. There was no damage to property or injuries to the pilot. There was about two feet of grass on the meadow at the time of landing. The aircraft was airlifted to tulare airport to have the damage fixed. An inspector from the fresno FSDO inspected the aircraft there. The accident scene was not accessible. The pilot claims that this was an incident and said the helicopter dropped the aircraft on the left wing. On scene pictures shows damage to the left wing before the helicopter picked up the aircraft. The recovery team was interviewed and they stated that the aircraft was not dropped during the recovery.
