From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot and pax performed the pre-flight check. The oil was visually inspected at 7 quarts prior to flight. After departure from kchd, the pilot stated that the engine started to run rough. Additionally, no oil pressure was indicated on gauge. He attempted to land on runway 35 at P19 (stellar airpark). He was unable to make this runway and opted for an off-airport landing. The pilot contacted kchd tower and advised of his intentions. During the off-airport landing, the aircraft made contact with dirt beams. This contact caused substantial damage to the aircraft. Minor injuries to the pilot and pax were noted. No one on the ground was hurt.
