From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Witness stated that the pilot privacy data omitted had made several low passes over a private airstrip that was under construction prior to the accident, these low passes were followed by very steep pull-ups, the aircraft wreckage was located in the trees about 200 yards east and abeam the south end of this airstrip. On-scene investigation of the wreckage revealed the engine was developing power at the time of impact with the trees. The aircraft began to break apart as it descended through the branches, the main fuselage impacted the trunk of a large tree approximately six feet from the ground, both occupants were fatally injured.
