From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Flight was cleared to taxi for takeoff on runway 10R. The pilot in command chose to taxi to C2 and then to join taxiway c to runway 10R. From his position on the ramp he began a left turn to proceed to taxiway C2. He began the turn using normal nose wheel steering. This provides a maximum nose wheel deflection of 10 degrees. While in the turn he depressed the "park button" which increases the nose wheel deflection to 63 degrees. This resulted in an uncommanded right turn which caused the aircraft to depart the ramp.
