From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The aircraft was cleared to land on runway 12R at the north Las Vegas airport. On approach the right engine quit and the pilot was unable to make the air field. The pilot attempted to land on a road but clipped a light pole with the left wing. The aircraft then impacted a block wall and came to rest in the street with the left wing on fire. Both passengers and the pilot were not injured. Information note: the aircraft wreckage was released by the NTSB prior to inspection by the FAA.
